Shirvan kilims are handcrafted with handspun wool using mostly vegetable dyes by Afghans to be then exported from Pakistan. These Kilims designs are inspired by the original Afghan Meymaneh kilims in northern Afghanistan and Caucasian Geometric designs. They are hard wearing due to the quality of the wool which is very durable.

When using a kilim, one should use a thick underlay to stop the rug from moving, which will ensure extended durability of the kilim and would be more practical when using it on the hard floor.
